The year has started out well, even with the added responsibilities I find myself with as my mom recovers from bilateral knee replacement surgery she underwent earlier this week.
I find a great deal of calm when I stitch, and while it has always been therapeutic and even cathartic, I’m finding even more peace when I am sitting with a lap full of this project or that right now. More than ever.
I am about halfway through the February installment of the Crazy Quilting blocks. The threads used in this are The Gentle Art Simply Shaker threads and Kreinik #4 braids. I am stitching my model on Wichelt Imports 14ct. white chocolate aida.
My daily meditative stitching is something that I love doing, and look forward to that hour each day when I just let the fabric scraps speak to me. There is no right or wrong, just stitches.
Today’s meditation: 4″ x 4″ cotton base, cotton scraps layered and hand stitching with overdyed cotton threads.
Today I am grateful for Tazo’s cocoa mint chai tea. I am grateful for my commitment to my health, or rather, recommitting to my health. I am grateful that my mother made it through her surgery and is on the road to recovery.
