It began with a daily art challenge this last February in which I created a bit of textile and fiber art each day, in most cases a 4″ x 4″ design using scraps of cotton fabric, recycled sheers, most from chiffon scarves, a variety of fibers for hand stitching and in some cases, a sprinkling of beads. I selected four of these smaller pieces and started to work them into a single composition.
First piecing together and pinning
Made marks, moved sheers, added more.
Blended until the texture eased one square into the next.
And then, when it told me it was finished, the happy accident occurred.
I turned the piece.
The Dream Tree appeared.
